The butterflies in my tummy were really starting to flutter as I stepped off the Red Jet Hi-Speed Ferry as I arrived in Cowes. The Hi-Speed crossing was quite rough and we had certainly been hitting the water hard on our approach. Zircon are Racing at Cowes

Jason Roberts and Dr Amanda Potter from Zircon have been working closely with Jim Macgregor at Spinnaker Yachts for a couple of years now to support Zircon’s coaching and development interventions and have forged a strong working relationship. Jim is a Master Mariner and sailing is part of his family. Two of his daughters Lucy and Kate compete in the Match race class and are currently World Champions and are a real medal prospect at the London Olympics in 2012.

Spinnaker Yachts Sailing Day … From a Psychological Viewpoint

Having recently taken part in the successful sailing day organised by Zircon and Spinnaker Yachts I was struck by the insight into people that such a day can produce. It is recognised that placing someone in an ‘alien’ environment, such as a 41 foot yacht, out of their normal comfort zone, results in them having to focus almost exclusively on the task in hand.
